Cyclist

In just six years of cycling Curtis (nee Knight) achieved an unprecedented amount of success.

Emerging from a dairy farm in Congupna, Curtis used to ride nearly 10 km to and from her work selling Malvern Star bikes each day.

Curtis held an Australian title in 1952 after winning the two mile track event just four years into competing in the sport.

Curtis was captain of the Shepparton Cycling Club when it competed at state titles and was named the club’s cyclist of the century.
