Paralympic swimmer

Church grew up in Mooroopna and at the age of 10, developed a health condition which caused her to be permanently in a wheelchair.

As a part of her treatment she spent many hours at the local indoor swimming pool using swimming as her main exercise.

Church went on to become a gold medallist at the World Wheelchair Games and in Australian championships.

She won national and international events in freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke, being a world record holder and representing Australia at the Sydney Paralympic Games.
