Power was selected as part of the Australian side to represent the nation in bowls at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh.

She represented Australia in both indoor and outdoor bowls.

She won silver in the fours following a highly successful decade prior to the event that saw her in outstanding form.

Power won 10 Mooroopna Golf club championships as well as being a four-time state singles champion.

Leading up to her Commonwealth Games appearance, Power was crowned State Champion of Champions in the 1985–86 season.
