Netballer

Boniello (nee Taverner) was the 115th player to represent Australia in netball.

She played her first international game in 1996 against New Zealand and the star defender was named best on court.

Boniello played nine games for Australia in an era when international games were not as regular.

She won four premierships with Melbourne Phoenix in the domestic league, and also captained the side for four years during her time at the club.

Boniello’s successful career came after starting out playing for St Brendan’s in the Shepparton Netball Association.
